Uncorked: Truvee Wine

By Claire Goldman

Welcome to the sisterhood of the traveling wine makers!  Truvee is the latest product of the first African American sister founded and owned wine company.

Truvee comes from the French verb "to find", this speaks to the touching story behind the winemakers' path to where they are today.  Both born in California to the same father and different mothers, the girls were separated.  While Robin was raised in the Monterrey wine region of California, Andrea was miles away in the (coincidentally) wine rich Marlborough region in New Zealand.

After years of detective work, the sisters were reunited and found they were bound by much more than a bloodline.  Their shared passion for wine has produced two lines:  Eco Love, based out of Andrea's homeland down under and Truvee which hails from Robin's roots in California.

Both varietals, Chardonnay and Rhone-style Red Blend, are grown in Napa Valley region of California.  The wines are for sale in local markets and restaurants in the DC area such as Harris Teeter, Schneiders of Capitol Hill, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Cities and many more.
Truvee is a crowd pleaser!
