Beer, Bacon and Burgers!

Thursday, 1/9 -- DC Brau, Bacon, & Burgers: EPIC Beer Dinner: DC Brau + Bacon + Burgers = EPIC. Big Buns is teaming up with DC Brau to pair five of their delicious brews with five awesome food courses this Thursday from 8:15-10:15pm for a delicious beer dinner. The menu starts with all you can eat fries and sweet potato fries followed by three series of sliders toped with versions of bacon like prosciutto bacon, house-cured bacon and apple smoked bacon. Art and Soul continues its monthly series of intimate, family-style meals hosted by Executive Chef Wes Morton and his team with a dinner focusing on the brews and food of the Pacific Northwest. Held the second Saturday of the month, Saturday Suppers begin with a reception and passed hors d’oeuvres before moving to a seated, four-course meal. The first of this year’s suppers, to be held on January 11, has been conceived by Art and Soul Chef de Cuisine Doug Alexander, an Oregon native and aficionado of the region's micro breweries. The meal will highlight brews that are hard to find on this coast paired with dishes such as Columbia River Salmon and Red Wine Braised Leg of Venison.The event begins at 7 p.m. and costs $70 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity. This Saturday Camper van Beethoven and Cracker are coming to the 9:30 Club, and there are still tickets available! The alternative rock bands have some unique new tracks and the show is sure to be great. Camper van Beethoven is a mix of indie rock and ska. Cracker is the perfect blend of rock and country. Sunday, January 12th is the second and final day of the NBC 4th Health & Fitness Expo. Held at the Washington Convention Center, this free expo features hundreds of exhibitors offering medical and fitness services, and healthy food options. Exhibitors will include Seasons 52, Cabot Creamery, and the Vegetarian Society of DC. The event will also include a Cooking Stage with programming every hour.
