Presidential Inauguration Package at Capitol Hill Hotel

Fresh off a multimillion dollar renovation which includes a redesigned lobby, the expansion and addition of meeting and event space, and a name change, (Capitol Hill Hotel was formerly known as Capitol Hill Suites), the Capitol Hill Hotel has partnered with Equinox Restaurant to offer a decadent Presidential Package for Inauguration, available January 18th to January 22nd.

Each of the 152 suites inside the Capitol Hill Hotel, which all include their own kitchen, will undergo renovation shortly after the Inauguration.

Highlights of the $26,000 package include a private party for 10 in the atrium of the award-winning Equinox Restaurant, complete with a tailored menu and perfectly paired wine selections and having Todd Gray of Equinox as your on-call personal chef, preparing private dinners for two to be enjoyed in the comfort of your own room. Other luxury offerings include accommodations for up to 4 people in two One Bedroom Suites, complete with a full kitchen, stocked with 2 bottles of Veuve Clicquot, fresh fruit, mineral water, gourmet coffee, and snacks, a personal Chevy Suburban available 24/7 during the duration of the stay, a personal tour of the National Archives, a presidential photo shoot at a famous presidential memorial, spa treatment for up to 4 people at a renowned local spa, and a personal wardrobe stylist and a team of top beauty and hair gurus to assist your group of up to 4 people with hair styling and make-up applications so that you all look presidential at any inaugural events you plan to attend. Interested parties should call the hotel directly to book at (202) 543-6000.

If $26,000 isn't in your budget at the moment, you can still experience the newly renovated Capitol Hill Hotel and tastes of Equinox Restaurant by booking your next meeting or event in one of their newly expanded meeting spaces. The Capitol Hill Hotel offers intimate meeting spaces that can accommodate 5 to 40 people. The Capitol Hill Hotel does not have an in house catering department, which only benefits you, as you can bring along any caterer of your choosing, including Equinox Restaurant.

The Parlor (accommodates 10-35 attendees) and the Boardroom (accommodates 12) meeting spaces are pictured above. Other meeting spaces include The Library, The Salon, and the Independent.

At a recent reception at the Capitol Hill Hotel, I was able to sample several canapés and sweet treats provided by Equinox Restaurant.

The Apple Chestnut Soup with Hazelnut Crumble offered all the flavors I always want in my oatmeal, but don't always get. Though it hasn't been that cold outside as of late, this soup is perfect for warming up on a cold winter day.

The Truffled Grilled Cheese Panini’s with gruyere and Herb Mayonnaise was another comfort treat for the chillier weather. It's hard to go wrong with a grilled cheese.

The Tuna Tartare on Nori Chips with Cucumber and Sprouts was a light and refreshing bite. It was like having salsa on a chip served directly to you.

I was also able to sample some lovely sweets, which included Passion Fruit Marshmallows with Shaved Coconut, Little Pistachio Cakes, and Chocolate Salted Almonds Rochers. Though all the treats were worthy of a second helping. the Passion Fruit Marshmallows were a standout. I've been on a marshmallow kick lately courtesy of Kickstarter, and though I generally enjoy marshmallows that are a bit drier in texture, the Passion fruit Marshmallow had the perfect about of moisture, with the coconut providing a nice balance of crunch, and no one in the room would stop talking about them.

The Capitol Hill Hotel is located just a block away from the Capitol South Metro at 200 C Street SE. For more information about available suite and meeting space, visit http://capitolhillhotel-dc.com.
