Hello Cupcake Launches Celebration Cakes

The cupcake trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere soon, as cupcakes are now replacing cakes at many events. However, if you prefer the traditional method of slicing a cake with the ability to make the slice as big or small as you want it and the ability to choose between the middle piece or the edge piece, with just the right amount of frosting for your tastes, Hello Cupcake now has the perfect treat for you (and your friends, family and co-workers) with their new line of Celebration Cakes.

Available in 6", 8"and 10" rounds or Half Sheets, Hello Cupcake's new Celebration Cakes can be made in 10 different cake flavors, topped off with fondant and/or 16 different buttercreams.

If you like the look of fondant decorations in simple, clean and modern designs, you may choose between one of the seven designs below, though Hello Cupcake is happy to work with customers to custom design the perfect cake. (Please note: Hello Cupcake specializes in simple, modern designs, not 3D carvings of the White House, though they can make you a white house shaped fondant decoration).

If you prefer just a simple cake topped with frosting, Hello Cupcake has options for you too.

Gluten-Free Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Buttercream

"Birthday Cake" Vanilla Cake with Vanilla Buttercream

Carrot Cake with Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting and Toasted Walnuts

Coconut Cake with Coconut Cream Cheese Frosting and Toasted Coconut

These cakes may look too pretty to eat, but you will only think that for so long. I was able to sample each of the cakes above.

The Gluten-Free Chocolate was a standout, essentially a fudge, though much lighter and creamier than a typical fudge bar. I normally stay away from chocolate on chocolate, but this cake was amazing.

The Coconut and Carrot Cakes were both very rich and dense.

The Vanilla Buttercream on this Vanilla Cake was a tad too sweet for me.

The Lemon Cake with Strawberry Buttercream was my second favorite cake behind the Gluten-Free Chocolate. Fruit flavored cakes are typically my go-to cakes and this one did not disappoint. The lemon cake was fluffy and the strawberry buttercream had the prefect amount of sweetness.

Pricing starts at $5-6 per serving for basic flavors. Premium, Vegan or Gluten Free Flavors are an additional charge.

Basic cake flavors include Chocolate, Vanilla and Lemon, while basic frosting flavors include Chocolate, Vanilla, Peanut Butter, Lemon and Strawberry Buttercream.

Premium cake flavors include Cookies n' Cream, Banana and Maple while premium frosting flavors include Burnt Sugar Buttercream, Chocolate Ganache, German Chocolate and flavored Cream Cheese.

All cakes are baked out of the Capitol Hill location, though cakes can be ordered from the Dupont location as well. Cakes are available for delivery or pickup at either location. 2 weeks notice is required for fondant cake orders and 72 hours notice is required for basic frosted cakes. For more information, you can visit www.hellocupcakeonline.com or call the Capital Hill location at 202-544-2210.
