Overview: Zabb Modern Asian Restaurant

Initial Thoughts:
  • Design and Decor:  Modern Asian design with hand-made artwork from Thailand.
  • Food:  You'll find delicious sushi, Thai food and other fun Asian dishes.
  • Drinks:  Super fun cocktail menu including my favorite, the Strawberry Basil Mojito
  • Service:  The staff is great and greets you with smiles.  The chefs are top-notch.
  • Would I go back?  Yes!
Zabb is zabb (Zabb means delicious in Thai.  You only use the word if the food is really really good)!  Zabb has taken over the space that was formerly Straights of Malaysia.  TK Chin has been in the restaurant business for over 13 years.  He opened Zabb DC after running the successful Manassas Zabb.

They have a fantastic patio to sit outside and enjoy dining and people watching.
Try the Strawberry Basil Mojito and the Ginger Lemonade for sipping.

We started with some sushi pieces of salmon and yellow tail.

The salmon was topped with caviar and gold leaves.

The Lobster Mango Salsa served on endive leaves is a fresh and fruity choice.

We loved the fried squid that was so tender and juicy.

My favorite appetizer was the blue crab with noodles and crispy potato strings on top.  The flavors were so fresh and so good.  Zabb uses only the highest quality ingredients so you are sure to enjoy anything you order.

For your entree, try the gigantic crispy salt chili prawns.  These are very hard to find and very zabb.  We also liked the Salt Chili Chicken stir fried with herbs and spices and fried green beans.  You really can't go wrong with the menu options.

They have everything going for them, great location, experienced owner, excellent food...so all you have to do is go in and give them a try.  Check out their grand opening party on September 15th!
